From Club nights:
Green house gas production is looking pretty intense.
Lets get an impression of the environmental price of our entertainment when
powered from fossil fuel electricity:
For just a 20kW sound system plus 2kW of lighting thrown in, before staggering
out of an 8-hour club night we will have treated our home planet to over 172
solid kilos of life toasting carbon dioxide, pumped out from the nearest
power station supplying us.
Instead of pushing it out onto the world, imagine that we could feed those
emissions back into the atmosphere of the venue - hose pipe up the
exhaust and back through the car window stylie. 172 solid kilos of CO2
expanded back to toxic gas and pumped back through the building... Would we even
make it out?.
By the way, the club sound system currently most popular is rated at 50kW.
Which off-loads close to half a ton of world warming pollution in one night.
